Jackie remembers
herself as being very shy the first
time she went on set, "It was a
Venus Film Production titled ’Divine
Love’ and I had to play the role of
Kate, the protagonist. I didn-t
believe I did too well. I fumbled
but many people did not notice it",
she said. That was obviously not
easy for a first timer but Jackie
said she gave a good account of
herself and succeeded in impressing
everyone.
Currently she is
back and has taken acting as a full
time carrier. She is the face of
I.P.M.C and models for some fashion
houses in Ghana. Today, Jackie’s
face could be seen on many bill
boards and TV commercials. She won
the face of U.B in a promotion she
did for them. Jackie is often cast
alongside popular Ghanaian film
actors
Van Vicker and Nadia Buari in
romantic lead roles. Some of her
popular movies includes; Divine
love, Beyoncé, The President’s
Daughter, Mummy’s Daughter
Jackie was nominated
together with equally good actresses
in Nigeria for the Best Supporting
Actress in the resent Africa Movie
Academy Awards (AMAA) in Nigeria.
The final list for her category had
Noelie Funmi Agbendegba (Abeni)
Republic of Benin, Jackie Agyeman
(The President’s Daughter) (Beyonce)
- Ghana and Ireti Doyle (Sitanda)
The movie "Beyonce -
The President’s Daughter" was chosen
and she won the award for that
category. To her she never knew she
couldn’t grab that award but yet her
hardwork proved her wrong. Her
expectations now is to get back to
school to study law and then enroll
in an acting school to add more to
her existing talents.
Jackie acts in
English and that is what she enjoys
doing since she is not good in the
local language. Her best movie so
far is "Royal Battle" and says she
hopes the best is yet to come.
She got married in
2005 and has a bouncy baby boy by
name Damien. "I am happy to be a
mother, having him was the happiest
moment in my life". Her husband, who
knows what time it is, as Jackie
puts it, supports her so much in her
acting carrier together with a nanny
who takes care of the baby when she
is on location. Her plans for the
future are to see better movies on
our screens and the industry
attaining different heights as time
goes on.
Jackie was born Dec
5 1983, and is the last of five
children Yvonne, Mansa, Abrefi and
Kofi to Mr. George Appiah and Miss
Janet Owusu. Jackie is grateful to
her numerous fans for their loyalty.
