“In acting, you have to go through different acting techniques as a Theatre Arts student. So I guess I try to put a lot of that into practice whenever I try to translate what I have read into practice. I read a lot of books; I love to read, so I try to educate myself. Each character I play, I try to talk slightly different from what I have done before. I try to change my style of acting, my style of walking. I think it is basically my education that really helped me.  I guess I do try to improve in everything that I do by reading more.  I also study other foreign actors as well”.
Her meteoric rise in the industry cannot be over-emphasised because she has set a standard for youths to emulate.  Stella who grew up in Benin City, Edo State knew what she wanted as a growing child because she has the flair for entertainment and showbiz, which her mother encouraged and she went for it. Today, she is among the top flyers in the movie industry.
However, uneasy they say, lies the head that wears the crown and being a successful actress is not without hard work as it is not easy tendering for her children, attending to one client or the other and having to rush to movie locations.
What is Stella's typical day like? “Frankly speaking, I don't have a typical day. I know that from the time I wake up in the morning till about 10-11pm, I must make sure that in that space of time, I try to see my kids for at least one hour. The rest of the time, I'm either shooting a movie, I'm at the office etc. I can't stay in one place for a long time and I always want to do something to keep my mind working and keep busy. I buy a lot of books, I don't have a routine life. I am a spontaneous person”.
The Asaba Delta State born movie diva who plays the lead role in the block buster movie Widow has not relented in making sure that her career and success suffer even amidst great challenges, like loosing her beloved husband but she has kept on getting better and developing her style of acting.
Today Stella Aboderin is one of Nigerian's most sought after actresses.

Screen diva Stella Damasus-Aboderin exhibited one of the traits of a winner that has given her the success she is enjoying today.

Last Tuesday, at the Planet One Entertainment, Maryland, Lagos, her name drew more applause than others when she was announced as a celebrity judge for the pre-elimination night of the ongoing Spirit of David's Celebrity Takes 2 television programme. She is every inch a complete entertainer and a wonderful role interpreter.

Like she has rightly said that though she is involved in other besides acting, she cannot see herself living a fulfilled life without the make-believe profession. “I have a thousand and one other ventures things that I do besides acting, but believe me, if you asked me, deep down inside, I would tell you that the one that I really love most is acting and that is the movie industry.  I really wouldn't want anything to happen to it and I doubt if anything is going to happen to it”

Coming into what is better known as Nollywood today, of course was not a piece of cake for Damasus but she kept to it believing in herself to break through all barriers. Knowing very well that having just the passion and flair for what you do is not enough but adding educational training to make you an authority, she increased her haul of certificates and got to know all the techniques involved in her career.
It may have been very stressful but she went through it to become what she is today'.
